Life can be unkind, with no where left to hide
One more day for you, nothing I'd wouldn't do
Your kindness lives within my heart like footprints in the sand.
Holding back the winter well, we knew it could never last.

So we tried to put the water back into the tap
But it's hard to take a fallen leaf and make it reattach
You swam against the tide for us and crawled under the smoke
But you can't run without hope...

Life can be so cruel and over much too soon
I'm missing all your ways, nothing that I would change
Your pride could be frustrating and I see it in myself
I'm sorry your routine was shaken when you called out for help
